Bell Denies He is Visiting the Packers This Week

Free-agent offensive tackle Demetrius Bell confirmed Wednesday that he will not be visiting Green Bay, despite recent reports he would this week.

While Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Tuesday that free-agent offensive tackle Demetrius Bell was scheduled to visit the Packers sometime this week, Bell took to Twitter to dispel any notion that he'd be taking anymore free-agent visits. From his verified Twitter account:

It had been speculated for the better part of two weeks that Bell would make a visit to Green Bay, but nothing official ever materialized.

A 30-game starter at left tackle for the Buffalo Bills over the last three seasons, Bell has reportedly received interest from the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins.

While the Packers may still be in the running for Bell, it does not appear now that they'll have the benefit of an official visit.

UPDATE: According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Bell signed a five-year deal with the Eagles Wednesday.
