And You All Think I\'M Crazy...

Brandon over at ACME Packing Company (a Packer blog Corey and I read and enjoy on most occasions) tries to convince both his readers and himself that the Packers could possibly draft Michael Crabtree. Now, as I've often stated, I'm no draftnik. But I must advise young Brandon to put down the crack pipe and step away from the computer...

The Vikings were crazy for taking Randy Moss when they had Chris Carter and Jake Reed. (They also drafted Adrian Peterson after signing Chester Taylor as a free agent).

Sometimes if a truely special player falls into your lap you just have to take him. Moss and Peterson were those players for the Vikings. Is Crabtree that kind of player? I have no idea. But if he is, yeah, Thompson has to take him.

Also, Driver ain't getting younger. Jennings is a proven stud. After that there is Jones and Nelson---i.e. a lot of unprovenness. There is a lot of potential there, but if Driver's play slips or he gets injured, the wr corp goes from being elite to pretty average.

Sorry DDD. My intimation that Brandon was using crack was more to do with Crabtree making it down to the ninth pick. I guess anything's possible - but I would be shocked if he drops out of the Top 5.

Disagree with the notion, totally.
==================
I do think, that if available, TT will grab the TE from MU - "Of course, it doesn't hurt to get a head start. Chase Coffman's dad, Paul Coffman, played 11 seasons in the NFL, most with the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs, and caught 42 touchdowns while being named to three Pro Bowl teams" - he's 6'6"/255lbs, with gifted hands and recently written up in Packer Report. --- THAT's who TT would grab at #9, pending he is actually there. Can you imagine Rodgers with a bonafide Tight end to throw to (?)..... GO PACK GO.
============================
Course, I would expect TT to actually grab someone for the Line, but hey.... Chase is simply unique and probably twice as good as his Dad was.
