Aaron Rodgers Confirms He Has Fractured Collarbone, No Timeline for Return Yet

On his weekly Tuesday radio show on ESPN Radio affiliates in Wisconsin, Rodgers confirmed specifics of his injury.

On his weekly Tuesday radio show on ESPN Radio affiliates in Madison and Milwaukee, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers confirmed he has a broken collarbone but said, as of yet, there is no timeline for return.

"(I) feel like I've been a quick healer in the past," said Rodgers. "Hopefully this will be on the short end."

Rodgers said he continues to undergo testing and was in a considerable amount of pain after his injury occurred during the Bears game on Monday.

From talking to a few people that I know that broke their collarbone's. I am guessing he will be out at least 1 month. If not more.

Woodson had the same thing last year didn't he? Wasn't he out about 8 weeks or so?

As crazy as it sounds they should contact Brett Favre. He's the only guy out there and I guarantee you that he would love to come back and play for Green Bay. There's a reason St. Louis called him.

He could make up for all his wrongdoings by playing on a part time basis and helping his old team out. The fans would all forgive him. Win win!!

Favre was simply terrible in his last season of playing football. And that was before three years of football inactivity and aging. This would be a losing situation for all involved.

No, it wouldn't. Favre is better than Wallace even at 44. He's an ugrade. He knows the offense from having played with McCarthy and he's played with Jordy, Jones and Finley.

As crazy as this sounds we now need qb where defenses have to at least respect "the threat of a pass". lol Good God, who would of thought that but it's true. Right now teams will play Lacy and Starks and laugh at our passing game. Favre will give us that for a month or so, Wallace won't.

well, it depends on the severity and location of the fracture. woodson's fracture was really bad so he was out for a while. the packer's are pretty secretive about their injuries so we can only speculate how bad aaron's fracture is. best case i believe is about 3 weeks

The Packers, like it or not, will not rush him back on the field. These injuries can be recurring if not healed completely. I've seen players have this happen several times to them after the first time.

It can't be understated how shitty it is to have significant injuries to our two marquee players immediately AFTER we gave them a boatload of money. So unfortunate. I guess with these two guys maybe it doesn't really matter. If these injuries had happened last year, is there any way their contracts would be slightly less gigantic (not that they aren't deserved)? anyone know?

It's crazy how I thought before the game that the ONLY way the Bears would beat us if they took out Rodgers and look what happened. As I'm looking through the remaining schedule; WTF is (seems like) everyone panicking? The next 5 are winnable! The offense will have to change a bit,but let's not act like we've seen the '11 or even the '10 Packers recently! This defense will have to carry this team (which they have before) to at least 3-4 games. Hopefully the Pack are still in the NFC-North hunt within the next 4-5 weeks. Let's see what this team is made of.

I've argued in the past, that we might actually benefit from just such a scenario as this.

Aaron, imo, has a tendency to stat whore. With an injury situation like this, we will be forced to adhere to fundamentals.

No holding the ball 8 seconds, no passing up open guys to throw deep. No ignoring time of possession.

ADHERE TO FUNDAMENTALS. That is the real formula for success. The last time we were in this position was in '10. We had to win our last 5 games just to make the playoffs. FUNDAMENTALS.

But this team only adheres to them when they are forced to do so.

Who's with me?

Well my expectations for the remainder of this season came crashing down shortly after Rodgers did. But, as always, I'll watch and hope for the best from my beloved Packers. A lot less stress from now on. If they win it all fantastic. If they don't, well the Fates were against us.

Maybe we'll be lucky and ARod will be back in a few weeks. In the mean time, I will be interested to see how the rest of the team performs. I'm probably one of the few who watch exhibition games to see how the second and third teamers perform. We'll have to see how they perform with real bullets flying.

It's amazing how many of McGinn's preseason topped ranked players are either currently out or will have missed significant time this year. Numbers 1 thru 3,6,8,9,12,13,17 & 23 through just a half of the season. Yet, here they are, tied for first in the division. How long they can stay in it will be interesting.

If things don't shake out this year at least they have a great core of players to start over with next year. And maybe the Fates will be kind then.

This is the scenario we all have been dreading. TT and MM for not identifying and having a quality back-up QB. It was discussed at length in Pre-season, but because as fans were spoiled with the fact BLF and Aaron hardly ever missed significant time in almost 20 years.

Hopefully the season isn't lost (I Stil think we can make playoffs, but nothing else) and Packer Management will learn a lesson.

Also, MM better look at an uptempo play calling style. The Bears didn't fear Wallace throwing, sure that other teams won't either.

Uptempo, quick passes mixed with a run game. Kinda like NE (except we have a running game)
